How credit works
- Top up from $10. Pay by card through Stripe: $10, $25, $50, $100 or any whole-dollar amount from $10 to $1,000 per top-up. Need more at once? Email support@zilapi.com to raise your limit.
- Valid for 12 months. Each top-up expires 12 months after you add it. The oldest credit is used first.
- Charged on success. Failed jobs cost nothing, and so do jobs you cancel while they are queued.
- Per second, 1-minute minimum. A 3 m 12 s file is 192 s = $0.1056. A 20 s file is billed as 60 s = $0.0330.
- Test keys are free. zil_test_ keys return a fixed sample file. There is no free trial of live jobs.
- Refunds within 14 days. Unused credit from a top-up can be refunded within 14 days of that top-up.
- Price changes. 30 days' notice before any price increase; cuts apply immediately; submitted jobs keep the price they started with.
Questions
What happens when my balance runs out?
New jobs are rejected with 402 insufficient_credit before they start. Jobs already accepted always finish, because their cost was held when they were created. We never charge your card unless you start a top-up.
How is the duration measured?
From the decoded audio, not the file size. Billable seconds are the duration rounded up to the next whole second, with a 60 s minimum per file.
Can I get a receipt?
Stripe emails a receipt for every top-up, and every job records what it cost and why.
Do prices change?
They can, with notice: 30 days' notice before any price increase; cuts apply immediately; submitted jobs keep the price they started with. Each job records the unit price and pricing version it was created with, and is charged at that price.
