Pricing & billing

You buy US-dollar credit in advance; each succeeded job takes its exact cost from it. Failed and canceled jobs, and everything a test key does, are free.

How a job is priced

  • zilapi/nr-4.1 costs $0.033 per audio minute, which is 550 micro-dollars per second (unit_price_micros: 550).
  • Billable seconds = the audio's duration rounded up to the whole second, with a minimum of 60: max(60, ceil(duration)).
  • Charge = billable seconds × unit price, in whole micro-dollars (1 USD = 1,000,000 micros). No other rounding happens.

45 s60 s (minimum)60 × $0.00055$0.0330

48 min 30 s2,910 s2,910 × $0.00055$1.6005
6 h21,600 s21,600 × $0.00055$11.8800

The price of each model is in GET /v1/models (pricing). See Models.

Holds and charges

The duration is known before the job starts, so when you create a job with a live key we hold its exact cost. Your available_micros (in GET /v1/credits) is your balance minus holds. If it is below the job's cost you get 402 insufficient_credit. When the job succeeds the hold is charged; when it fails or is canceled the hold is released.

Receipts

Every job carries a receipt that shows how its charge was worked out. The dashboard shows the same breakdown on each job's page and lets you download it.

Receipt fields
FieldMeaning
billable_secondsSeconds billed, after rounding up and the 60-second minimum.
minimum_appliedtrue when the audio, rounded up to whole seconds, was under 60 s, so the 60 s minimum was billed. 59.4 s rounds up to 60 s: billed as 60 s with minimum_applied: false.
unit_price_microsThe price per second when the job was created.
pricing_versionWhich price list applied. A price change never affects jobs already created.
charged_microsWhat was charged. 0 for a failed job or a test key; null while the job is queued or processing and for a job canceled before it started. Treat 0 and null alike as nothing charged.
ledger_txn_idThe credit-ledger entry for the charge, or null.

Credit

  • Top-ups are from $10 to $1,000, in whole dollars, paid by card through Stripe. Sales tax, where it applies, is added by Stripe and is not credit.
  • Credit is valid for 12 months from each top-up. Jobs use the credit that expires first.
  • Unused credit from a top-up can be refunded within 14 days of that top-up.
  • Price increases are announced 30 days ahead; price cuts apply at once.
  • Display rounding: balances show 2 decimals, per-job charges 4 decimals. The API's display strings are rounded to the cent; *_micros are exact.
